Melissa is a multi-disciplinary artist, mostly creating sculptures in wire, and also mixed-media wall pieces. She makes animals and quirky birds to celebrate the amazing creatures we share our world with, occasionally using bright, unrealistic colours, to bring a smile and challenge convention. Some of her sculptures incorporate found items and she often uses re-purposed man-made materials within each unique piece. She is inspired by nature in all its forms, and by using a variety of materials, the individual outcome allows the spirit of the piece to find its own voice. Sculptures are created for both garden and indoor settings. Commissions welcomed.
