Event Description

“In the Palace Garden there lived a little bird who loved words. He loved them more than he loved worms. A worm was gone in two beakfuls but a word could bring happiness over and over again”

In this heart-warming story the little bird uses the words he treasures to cheer up a sad princess. Join Rachael Mortimer for a fun creative workshop where children and families have the opportunity to decorate their own treasure box and fill it with words that make them smile, feel brave, and remind them of the people and the things they love.

This joyful session encourages creativity and conversation, crafting a keepsake to treasure long after the workshop ends. Includes Author reading and prizes too!

Ages 3 +. Adults are required to remain with their children, and are encouraged to join in!

please note before booking:

A responsible adult (aged 18 or over) must remain on site at all times while children are attending their workshop. Each accompanying adult requires a valid entry ticket (£8), which includes your charitable donation to Lindengate and grants full access to the beautiful six-acre site.

If you have younger children with you, they may enjoy one of our free storytelling sessions (please book a free ticket in advance to reserve your place) or simply have fun discovering the many hidden corners of this unique setting. We also have a Free childrens nature trail event at  midday every day, and a seek and find hunt around the site!

Before completing your booking, please ensure you have filled in the form below with your child's name and your contact details.
