Event Description
Discover the graceful art of brush pen calligraphy with artist Kat Gaska in this gentle, 2.5 hour introduction. Calligraphy is the beautiful art of expressive writing, where fluid strokes, varying line weights and rhythmic letterforms turn simple words into decorative artwork – think of it as drawing with letters, blending creativity, mindfulness and precision.
In this beginner-friendly workshop you’ll master the basics of holding and controlling a brush pen, learning how to create downstrokes, upstrokes and elegant letter connections to form your own spring/summer-themed quote or message. You’ll design and craft a decorative card or artwork incorporating seasonal flourishes like leaves, flowers or flourishes.
To keep practising at home, everyone receives a take-home calligraphy pack with a brush pen, worksheets, practice guidelines, templates and a supplies list. No prior experience needed – just bring a relaxed mindset and let your writing blossom. All materials provided.
